Hoedl Hof, first mentioned in 1542 as part of a tax collection to ward off the Turks, was a highly valued fief of the Stubenberg family, farmed by Hans Hedl. Even back then, the farm was considered a “right of purchase”, which promised the family long-term security. Over the centuries, the farm developed into a respected fruit distillery in Stubenberg am See, Styria, Austria.

The seventh generation, Franz and Gisela Dunst, took over the inheritance, with Franz’s conversion of the business to fruit and wine growing and a passion for distilling schnapps. Alfred Dunst, another descendant from 2002, later founded a commercial fruit distillery, specialized in schnapps and led the farm to organic certification in 2022, making the Hoedl Hof a modern organic farm.

After 1.5 years of careful development, Hoedl Hof introduced its London Dry Gin, which quickly secured a position among the best gins. Characterized by the uniqueness of each batch and vintage, Hoedl Hof’s 1542 London Dry Gin Old Classic stands out. As a classic juniper gin, created from 15 carefully selected botanicals, it impresses with its rich aroma profile.

It is bottled with an alcohol content of 42% in black, medieval clay bottles.
