Aura Gorki Pelinkovac (Croatian: Aura Gorki Pelinkovac – Rakija iz Hrvatske) is a traditional Croatian bitter liqueur based on vermouth, which is produced in the Istria region with great dedication and according to old recipes. Pelinkovac – also known as Pelinkovec or Pelinovec – is considered a true classic among herbal spirits in Croatia and is deeply rooted in the regional drinking culture.

With an alcohol content of 30.8% by volume and its typical bitter taste profile, this liqueur is reminiscent of well-known herbal bitters such as Jaegermeister in its intensity, but clearly stands out due to its particularly pronounced wormwood character. The harmonious composition of wormwood herb, various herbs and roots results in a tart, spicy and slightly medicinal taste that is appreciated both on its own and in mixed drinks.
